Sonamoo Mart Korean Store

After my sister and I went to Ortigas Art Festival 2018, we did not miss the opportunity to hunt for a Korean store in Ortigas Center. And since we both crave for Tteok-bokki or Hot & Spicy Rice Cake, we needed to buy new ingredients because the last ones were already consumed.

We found Easy Kitchen Sonamoo Mart Korean Store, which is I think just 10-minute walk from SM Megamall.

Upon entering the store, you'll see these refrigerators (picture above) that has a lot of Korean Ice Cream choices and beverages, and on the left, this cozy and convenient small eating area (picture below).

I have been in more or less four Korean stores in Metro Manila, and Sonamoo Mart is the biggest and spacious so far and has many brands to choose from.

First time to enter a Korean grocery store? What to buy? I suggest you buy the safest ones... Aloe Vera or Banana Milk drinks, Pepero or chocolate cookie sticks, Seaweed chips, Ramen (mind you most of their ramens are so spicy), packed Kimchi, Sesame oil, Gochujang or red chili paste (best for making Tteokbokki sauce), and Gochugaru or hot pepper flakes (an essential in making Kimchi).

Sonamoo Mart has a wide variety of ramen or instant noodle choices, from pouches to cups. Their Samyang 2x Spicy costs ₱60 each, while Shin Ramyun costs ₱195 pack of 5.

We bought 1 kg of Tteok or Rice Cake roughly costs ₱192. Because the 500 grams of it is insufficient for us.

Nowadays, I am delighted to cook easy Korean food like Korean-style Curry Rice, Kimchi, Tteok-bokki, and Japchae. That's why I have been posting a lot anything about Korean. Hopefully I can share to you my perfected recipes of these easy Korean dishes.

Sonamoo Mart is located at Ground Floor, The Centerpoint Bldg., Garnet Road Cor. Julia Vargas Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Philippines.
