Aside from watching basketball games, I now have a new sport that I love to watch, Volleyball! Last March 23, 2014, my younger sister and I decided to watch the Opening Ceremony of the Shakey's V-League Season 11 1st Conference at the FilOil Flying V Arena San Juan.
Shakey's V-League Ticket Prices are Ringside - ₱300, Lowerbox - ₱150, and Upperbox - ₱50. FYI, food and drinks are not allowed inside the venue, there's a Shakey's booth in the venue where you can buy pizza, pasta, mojos, chicken with rice, and drinks.
The Opening Ceremony started at around 1pm, but we were at the venue around 11am to buy tickets and save our seats because we don't want to be at the topmost area. Our decision to go early was so right because there were so many people already lining-up to buy tickets and enter the venue. It takes us approximately more than an hour to buy tickets and get our seats. The orange seats are the Upperbox, blue seats are the Lowerbox, and the light blue seats are the Ringside.
While waiting for the program to start, we spotted the Perpetual Lady Altas near our seat so we opted to have a picture with them. We wondered why the teams were near us.
The UST Lady Tigresses. Our seat was just by the dugout wherein the players prepare.

The ceremony started at around 1:30pm and was hosted by Survivor Philippines Maey Bautista.
Ateneo Lady Eagles |
Each team were introduced and called from the audience. We weren't able to take a picture of all of the teams because some were so far from us.
Perpetual Lady Altas |
NU Lady Bulldogs |
Followed by the teams introduction was the officials introduction, a prayer, singing of our National Anthem, and teams' picture taking.
After that simple, short, and energizing ceremony. Let the games begin! First game was between Ateneo Lady Eagles and Adamson Lady Falcons. Second game was NU Lady Bulldogs versus Perpetual Lady Altas.
My sister and I enjoying the games!
After the game we get to have a picture with Ma. Paulina Soriano of the Adamson Lady Falcons and one of Philippines Women's National Volleyball Team.
Another picture with Bernadeth Pons of FEU Lady Tamaraws. He's Lenard, our new found volleyball friend whom we met at the venue.
My sister Ynnah with Jana Sta. Maria of Perpetual Lady Altas. After the games we waited for less than an hour at the players' exit gate to have a glimpse of them and if we're so lucky to have a picture as well especially with our idols Alyssa Valdez, Dindin Santiago and Jaja Santiago. Unfortunately, we didn't saw them, I asked one of the security guards around the area and he said Alyssa Valdez is very hard to see after the game, she exits at a different gate to avoid her so many fans.
We also have a picture with Coach Edjet Mabbayad of NU Lady Bulldogs, a former FEU Tamaraw Spiker, and Philippines Women's National Volleyball Team Assistant Coach.
We really really really enjoyed the games so much despite of hunger and fatigue! Before I only saw them on TV, but now I got to saw them up close, how exciting is that!!! And the games were so full of energy, the crowd cheered so loudly, and totally had so much fun!!! Surely we will continue to support the sport and watch the games live.
I will create a separate post for the games between Ateneo Lady Eagles vs Adamson Lady Falcons and NU Lady Bulldogs vs Perpetual Lady Altas.
