Happy, Blessed, and Grateful at 37

Today is a special day for me and my family. It's my 37th Birthday and our 6th Wedding Anniversary! We had a very simple and happy celebration at home, normal everyday food, store-bought cake, some picture moments and chasing our toddler.

And this surprise Birthday Cake given by my youngest sister. Dainty, super cute, and really touching customized design picked by my sister!!! It's me during my wedding day, how thoughtful of my sister to also include a touch of our wedding anniversary on the cake. 

Red Ribbon's Rocky Road Cake

My sister gave me this sweet treat which is all the way from Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan. She manages to buy it even if it's pandemic thru her officemate which is a local from Palawan.

I have been seeing this baked goodie in many of my foodie social media groups for quite some time now. I'm wondering what the fuss is about, so I here it is, I bought Super Delights Brownie Bites in a decent stall in Novaliches market.

ROYCE' Chocolate is a Japanese company that started in 1983 at Sapporo. From then on, they now have branches in Canada, USA, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Brunei, Indonesia, Russia, Taiwan, South Korea, India, UAE, and here in the Philippines. ROYCE' Chocolate Philippines opened its first shop in December 2008 at Power Plant Mall in Rockwell Center, they now have a total of seven branches including this one in TriNoma Mall. ROYCE' TriNoma branch is located at the Level 3 (Mindanao Side) and it's near at one of the escalators.

Jollibee's Choco Mallow Pie is Back

Jollibee's Choco Mallow Pie is like the Pinoy version of S'more, except the graham cracker that is replaced by the flaky pie. The combination of chocolate and melted gooey marshmallow filling is so delectable! You can enjoy it while it's steaming hot or even a bit cold. I tried to put it in the fridge before eating because my tolerance for hot food and/or drink is pretty low. It still tastes the same and the chocolate filling was less runny.

Binggrae is a popular Korean ice cream manufacturer, it is known around the globe. And one of their most popular products is Samanco Ice Cream Sandwich, I guess because of its unique shape, who wouldn't be fascinated in a fish-shaped ice cream. I have seen three flavors of Samanco here in the Philippines, Samanco Red Bean, Samanco Chocolate, and Samanco Strawberry. However, I only tasted two flavors.

Tsokolate Ah and Ensaymada

Perfect for the post-holiday season is a steaming hot cup of chocolate drink, for sweet lovers and a-less-guilt caffeine intake, and paired with less sweet bread. Hot cocoa contains antioxidants, but take it in moderation for it also contains fats and sugars. I admit, I am not well-aware of how Tsokolate Ah was processed and prepared, so I've research about it. It is done by boiling a cup of water in a tsokolateria (some kind of a pitcher saucepan), then the tablea (cacao tablets) is mixed in with milk and ground peanuts. It is whisked using a batirol (a wooden beater) until it became a creamy, foamy broth.
