Bánh Mì or Banh Mi (pronounced as ban-mi) means bread, Bánh refers to food including bread and Mì refers to wheat, but it is known to be Vietnamese baguette. Vietnam was colonized by France during the mid-19th century, which is when they introduced baguette and became a staple food.
Now, Bánh Mì or Banh Mi is a popular food that refers to Vietnamese baguette sandwich typically filled with meats, pate, cucumber, coriander or cilantro, pickled carrots and radish, and sauces.
Bánh Mì Kitchen is one of the food chains here in the metro that offers traditional banh mi sandwiches. Bánh Mì Kitchen has roughly 10 branches in Metro Manila, SM Megamall, BGC Stopover Pavilion, BGC Uptown Mall, Pearl Plaza Ortigas, SM City North, SM Center Pasig, Greenhills Shopping Centre, Rockwell, M Place Tomas Morato, and Santolan Town Plaza.

The Classic Bánh Mì is consists of Vietnamese ham, roast pork, pate, cucumber, pickled radish and carrot, mayo and hoisin sauce sandwiched between crunchy baguette. A Full Sandwich costs ₱149, while Half Sandwich is ₱99.

I dine at Bánh Mì Kitchen SM Megamall branch and I had their Bánh Meal which has a choice of Traditional Bánh Mì and a Regular Drink. I have chosen The Classic Bánh Mì and BMKN Viet Iced Coffee.
It was my first time to try Bánh Mì Sandwich so I was surprised of its piquancy, the filling has an appetizing and sharp mix, imagine the combination of pate, coriander or cilantro, pickled veggies, mayo, meat, and hoisin sauce. While the baguette itself is another thing, its crunchiness is extraordinary, it's a bit airy and light on the inside while it has a crispy outer crust. The BMKN Viet Iced Coffee also tastes good, strong espresso with sweet milky mixture. It's definitely a must try!!!
