Pasalubong from Quezon Province

Quezon Province has a diverse tourism offering, from their captivating beaches, colorful festivals, heritage food and recipes, and many more! I know for a fact that when we wander in new places, we tend to buy some souvenirs or pasalubong so we can take home a little bit of their culture. Here are some affordable pasalubong that you can buy when you visit the Province of Quezon.

Broas or Ladyfingers is Sariaya, Quezon's specialty. It's a sponge biscuit shaped like a large finger. This Broas from Victoria Cadiz' Bakery in Quezon Ave., Sariaya, Quezon costs ₱60 per pack.

Pinagong Bread is probably the famous pasalubong from Sariaya, Quezon. The locals sell in the streets during day time and they also ascend to some buses to vend it. Pinagong is a dense bread, it's name is supposedly comes from the word "pagong" which means turtle in English because of its shape and texture which is a bit hard outside and soft in the inside. The prominent bakeries that sells Pinagong in Sariaya were Villadiego's Bakery that sells it for ₱37 per pack and Victoria Cadiz' Bakery which is ₱38 per pack.

Shing-a-ling is a fried snack that is made from dried and fried pancit miki noodles. Based on my quick research, Shing-a-ling originated from Laguna province and invented by the Perolina Family. Nevertheless, I bought this pack of Shing-a-ling for only ₱15 at Villadiego's Bakery Pasalubong, it's very cheap in here, because this same size can be bought as high as ₱50 here in Metro Manila. Na Ide Perolina's Shing-a-ling is just delicious, crunchy, tasty, and not so salty, it is the most delicious Shing-a-ling that I have tasted so far.

There are still more pasalubong goodies and souvenirs that Quezon has to offer, like Kakanin (rice cakes) such as Budin, Suman, Sinukmani, Tikoy, Pastries like Apas, Kalibkib, Uraro, and many more!!! I hope to try them all next time!!!

Smile, eat, and relax!!!
