Delicious and authentic Japanese Ramen need not to be so expensive. I know that most ramen restaurants here in the Philippines offer so delicious and very savory ramen but at a high cost.
Ramen Kuroda is one of the ramen houses that offers affordable authentic ramen experience for just ₱180 per serving. They are proud to serve home-made noodles and umami soup.
Last week my sister and I had dinner at Ramen Kuroda SM Fairview branch. This was my first time to try their ramen, while my sister is a regular here. Because there aren't so many ramen restaurants in SM Fairview.
We both ordered Kuro Ramen, their basic tonkotsu which is pork bones soup broth, with roasted garlic flavor, topped with half egg, a slice of chashu or roast pork, and leeks. First slurp of the broth, it's really good! You can definitely taste the umami goodness plus the distinct flavor of garlic. The noodles are firm which is good, the egg is cooked half-boiled, and the roast pork is so delicious.
It's a complete and really delicious meal. What I love about it is hindi nakakasawang kainin, because some ramen that I tried were so flavorful, so creamy, and very savory to the point that you cannot finish the whole meal or even take another spoonful. The bad thing though is we had to wait long to have our order, about 30 minutes and the place can be a bit crowded sometimes.
This ₱180 bowl of ramen is already good for one hungry adult, it can fill you up. However, if you want to add toppings like Egg ₱30, Chashu/Roast Pork ₱50, or Noodles ₱40 you can.
Ramen Kuroda's other two ramen choices were Shiro Ramen - tonkotsu of basic taste and Aka Ramen - tonkotsu with spicy taste. And aside from ramen they also offer other Japanese favorites like Tempura, Gyoza, Sashimi, Kani Salad, and Rice dishes.
My Foodie Tip: Sometimes Ramen Kuroda has promos/discounts like Unlimited Noodle for Free. Visit their website or Facebook page for updates.
You don't need to spend a lot to enjoy a hearty meal or to satisfy your cravings.
I’ll be back soon with more interesting post!
