Look at this monstrous goto or lugaw (rice porridge), it's so full of toppings, you can hardly see the porridge itself. This is Famous Gotohan's popular food, their Super Special Lugaw which only costs ₱60.
Before I give you my review of Famous Gotohan's Super Special Lugaw, let's check first their menu. They have a descent selection of goto or lugaw and some side dishes to partner it. What is the difference of lugaw and goto? Lugaw is just plain rice porridge that has garlic, onions, ginger and sometimes safflower (kasubha). While Goto, is lugaw with innards of either beef or pork, the usual Goto has beef tripe.
Aside from goto, they also offer paluto dishes like Pancit, Sisig, and more. Famous Gotohan also offers a variety of cooked Filipino dishes such as Adobo, Menudo, Bistek, and more. Famous Gotohan is located at 3 Daisy St., Fairview, Novaliches, Quezon City, they are near at Falcon Learning Center and Phoenix Gasoline Station.
My verdict for Famous Gotohan's Super Special Lugaw is two thumbs up! It is delicious, filling, the serving is a lot, and the price is cheap but it doesn't compromise the taste. Super Special Lugaw is goto that has beef tripe then topped with a hard-boiled egg, fried tofu, crispy pork chunks, fried garlic, spring onions, and a piece of kalamansi. I really love the toppings, especially the crispy pork chunks, it's so tasty and really crispy. The goto itself is so thick, less on the soupy side, a bit salty for my taste, and it complements all of its toppings. We will definitely go back to this place soon!
